Hey! My name is Adhikshita Mahesh and today I will be writing on the important skill of communication. Communication is a very important skill in this century. Unfortunately, not all have the privilege to get it.
In my school, GMA, we have had stay-back classes for communication ever since grade 1. They teach us aspects of communication and how to communicate effectively and efficiently.
In addition to the above, I had been going to an awesome communication club to build on my communication skills. The name of the club is Weetalk and my teacher’s name is Ms Natasha Baj-aj Kumar. She is the founder and communication director of weetalk and also the national president of the WICCI learning and development council. In this communication class, we get to speak, evaluate and be an organiser of an event. This gives you exposure on how to speak, give feedback and conduct a meeting
My teacher had given me the exciting opportunity to share my thoughts on a platform called ‘Her Voice’, hosted by Ms Chetana Basavaraj, on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram etc. My club-mates also did this and it was published like a series of episodes. If you are a music person, you might as well know about Spotify. If you do, music is just awesome when it comes to getting in your mood. It’s like the beat controls you. I feel like we are getting a little off-topic here so let us come back to Her Voice and hide music in our cupboard for now. The topic for discussion was what I want to be in the future and I spoke about my passion to become a writer and illustrator. You might have checked out ‘Nanny Avvai’, another post on this blog. If not, please check it right now before you continue any further.
Yes, I did include that in my speech. The format was like an interview. The person with me in the meeting was none-other than Ms Chetana Basavaraj, the host of the show. She is the mother of two, has a beautiful dog and is the host of the ‘Her Voice’ podcast. I was feeling very open-minded to know this setting. This was recorded a few months back and after editing the video, the host of the show was patiently waiting for the right day to upload them, and the day she was waiting for was children’s day. When the podcast was being recorded, I was on the ball to answer the questions that were asked in my own way. At first, I was thrilled to bits to be doing such an interview in the first place and when it was over, it seemed I had got a real kick out of it.
