Welcome Back!
I had taken up this topic for my english speaking task at school. Its something I read about a few months ago and thought it would be good to throw some light at. It is, in essence, a speech.
{…}
You must all remember the COVID times. Ofc, it was a turning point in our lives how could we forget? But what if I told you that one of the companies that made these vaccines admitted to blood clots?
what? does that mean you have to worry? before you panic, let’s take this one by one.
The covisheild vaccine, a common term in India since the COVID-19 pandemic. A short introduction to this vaccine before we begin. It was developed by a British-Swedish pharma or pharmacy company, AstraZeneca. This term and the name of the vaccine itself must be something that has been drilled into your head.
So here’s the problem, the company has been charged with 51 cases in London’s High Court. These cases have an approximate worth of around 125 million dollars. Yep, you heard me, one hundred and twenty-five million dollars.
Okay, now that’s out of the way, how does blood clotting come in the middle of lawsuits? a question even I would ask myself. Even though they denied all charges of the cases, they did admit one thing. Their vaccination causes blood clots in very, rare, cases.
What is the medical aspect of the ‘blood clotting’ problem?
Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome is a serious health condition that causes low platelet count and clots of blood within the body. The condition is now linked to vector vaccines launched during Covid-19.
The noted symptoms of the condition range from shortness of breath, chest pain, leg swelling, severe and continuous headaches, and stomach aches. Also, the fact that the affected person suffers from easy bruising.
Coming to the political aspect of this. A political aspect? yep, there is one. Pharma company giants and citizens themselves have taken to social media to question the integrity of the government for even allowing the vaccine to be allowed for use in the first place. many popular hashtags going, especially, against the BJP party. Of course, this has caused an evident spark in opposition parties, who have taken this argument by the throat.
This sounds a bit messed up, you are right. Let’s break this down to set myths away from the facts. First of all, how many people took this vaccine? Around 80 per cent of total vaccinations given out were covisheild.
Who licenced this vaccine? it was the Serum Institute of India and based on reports, these licences were given purely based on science and health, not anything else. India followed the same protocol as any other country and approving vaccinations was never a political decision.
One of the questions in your mind will be whether the company made a conscious attempt to hide it. Actually, no, they did not. The packaging of the vaccinations mentions the risk. These risks, I quote “has been observed with a frequency less than one in a hundred thousand”.
Sources say that among the 46 million adults that were used to test the vaccine, less than 3 faced this issue.
So no, if u have taken this vaccine, you don’t have to worry.
For our peace of mind, let’s put this into perspective. The disease itself, SARS-COV 2, had a much bigger chance of clotting in the first place.
Let me take you back. Hospitals flooded, lives being lost like the number of times we blink. Absolutely no hope for survival but staying in your homes. Watching your own loved ones drop like flies. In a time like that, tell me, do you think the government will be focused on blood clots or will they be focused on saving lives?
Of course, the answer there of obvious. Many other vaccines have similar side effects as well, such as influenza and the rabies vaccine. None of the vaccine companies ever claimed that their vaccine was perfect, nothing can be perfect. They admitted that.
Nevertheless, no matter what the side effects of these vaccines are, the symptoms of the disease itself far outweigh the negatives here. Don’t let anti-vaccinees tell you otherwise.
